She kinda looks like Veronica from Willy Wonka

She is so swollen that I think she is going to burst!! We have been tapering off the morphine, in hope that we can take her off the vent today. Then be moved to a regular floor and out of here. We will not be coming home on Wednesday as that is the first day we will see Dr. Rose when we leave the hospital. I am not comforable with only one post op visit before going home. She has been very quite this time around. I have been putting ice packs on her face 20 minutes every hour for the last two days. All is good and I praise God for all he is doing.

Hi Laura, Hang in there, you are doing great and we continue to think and pray for Lina. What a strong little girl! Mom, you are showing extraordinary strength and composure like you always do- I don't know that I could do the same...just think to down the road when Lina gives you her bright smile and has all the confidence in the world knowing how far she's come and how beautiful she is both inside and out! Thinking of you, Lisa

Rob is doing a super-dad job with the kids! We saw him at Chick-Fil-A night before you left, and then we all magically saw each other again at the rec! Just giving you a taste of humid Seminole... Hi Mommy!!
I miss you so so so so much! and its only been a few days, so I don't know what we are going to do...
At youth group yesterday we did one of our lessons for World Changers. It was about The Body of Christ and how it takes EVERY SINGLE part of the body to function the way that is intended. Pastor Scott played the song If We Are The Body by Casting Crowns. Throughout the whole lesson, all I could think about was the fact that you are making our feet go Mommy. If everyone was willing to do what you are doing, we would be so much farther. Lina is your daughter, and of course you are willing to do anything for her, but I just know you would be there for anyone in the world that needed you. And thats what we, the Body of Christ, are supposed to be doing. All the glory goes to God, but I know He is proud of you. And so am I Mommy!! I love you so much! Love, Hannah

P.S. if you click on my name, the song will play for you in another tab :)

Sounds like it's been a big process, but I'm sure the pay-off will be great. That's nice that Lina can respond with the I Love You sign and you know she's coming out of the haze. Glad you've met some great people to chat with, and that can leave their story and mark in your "life bank" of inspirations.

Hannah did some babysitting, and the kids were thrilled with their cousin, and had a blast. What a great girl she is!!!

Lots of love,
Andrea and the family

Hey, Laura -
I'm so glad to hear that Lina is doing so well. It must be hard to sit with her a will her to heal, but I know you are strong and she has shown to be a strong young lady. We've been thinking of you all this week - it must be tough for Rob and the kids to not be able to help you both..... you are so loved.

Hi Laura and Lina!
I am praying that you are convinced more than ever of His provision for you and the fact that He loves you and wants the best for you! In the midst of all this, be mindful. I am praying that you "feel" this love because you already "know" it. And, man does His love feel good, doesn't it! When you're in His arms, you just know everything is gonna be alright.
We all miss you back here at SFBC.
Peace, Scott Lapsley<><

Laura,
You are so much a part of my life, that it is amazing how much I love and miss you. I thank God every day for our friendship; and moreover, I thank God for placing you in my life. I may be older (a tiny bit!) but you are my mentor. I watch you "live" the word of God and I am in "awe" of your strength and faith. You not only listen to God's voice, but you take every challenge He gives you and you shine! You are a bright light to all of us!!!

I am so happy to hear that Lina is doing well, and she is hungry! She is amazingly strong and resilient as well. She has grown and matured so very much in the past year, and that can be attributed to all your time and patience. Watching the difference you have made in Lina's life, is a constant reminder of why God chose you to be her mother.

I also wanted to note how positive and cheerful you have sounded on the phone this trip. I know you must be exhausted - no sleep, cold feet and nose, a less than desirable sleeper/chair, and a constant vigil on Linda ... yet, every time I've spoken to you, you've sounded amazing. Lina is not the only one that has grown. I've witnessed God's work in you as well. You are truly an inspiration to me. Thank you!!!

Remember when I shared with you the day that Caitlin and Kenny got saved. We were on the beach; it was about to storm and we saw a cloud with a "silver lining." Caitlin stood up on a wooden post, raised her hands to God, and asked Him to come into her life. It was so beautiful, that Kenny took a stand on the post beside hers, and said, "Yeah, me... that!!!"

I watch you, and your walk with the Lord, and I constantly hear myself saying, "Yeah, me ... that!!!" Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life, your walk, and your family.

Keep hanging in there. Give Lina my love - along with a hug and a kiss if she's up to it. And give yourself a big hug from me too! I hope your return is not too delayed! We all want you home!

I love you, take care, and I will keep you in my prayers always!

Love,

Tia Peggy
